Ms7120 Serial Driver
Hi i am programming in vb6. I have a Metrologic MS7120 barcode scanner. This connects with serial port on computer. When i connect it with pc and scan some thing, it beeps as it has scanned some barcode,but no data output comes. I am trying to use it to get barcode data in a textbox and then do some further operation on that data.

Even i tried it in notepad but it does not write any data over there as well, even it beeps every time i scan some barcode with it. Any idea where problem is?? Can we take an output in notepad/text box with devices working on serial ports??? The RS-232 interface should require additional software to take the input. It doesn't pass through like text input.
The USB or keyboard connector works just like a keyboard input.nothing special to do with most flavors of Windows. I only used serial connector in an old installation (WinNT), and there was a driver and some config to be installed by the integrator to get scan data to populate text fields. The keyboard/USB types are far easier. They can transport from computer to computer.
Another Scanner option is an Orbit MS7120 Multi-Directional scanner. This one is more expensive but members find it easier to scan their keytags. (HSM) USB serial driver.'
