Kept from being a must-play by some unfortunate oversights on the developer's part. Unless I'm missing something, you can't play a book as a stand-alone- you have to import a character from the previous book. And higher-level rules are poorly explained- you have to dig into the character sheet to learn about lore-circles or higher-level abilities like Kai-Blast. Still recommeded highly, either for old gamebook fans looking for a nostalgia trip or newcomers looking for a taste of the golden age. This developer sells 'bookmarks' (a way to not start all the way over each time you die, which takes 10+ min of clicking to get back to where you were pre-death).

Since the dev makes a profit on you buying bookmarks, they have the RNG limits set to kill you VERY often, compared to say, Kai Chronicles (same story, different dev). Be prepared to die constantly, especially in later books, as the dev wants you to buy bookmarks out of frustration.
